Contexte	Membrane cofactor protein (CD46) is a ~43 kDa protein. Acts as a cofactor for complement factor I, a serine protease which protects autologous cells against complement-mediated injury by cleaving C3b and C4b deposited on host tissue. May be involved in the fusion of the spermatozoa with the oocyte during fertilization. Also acts as a costimulatory factor for T-cells which induces the differentiation of CD4+ into T-regulatory 1 cells. T-regulatory 1 cells suppress immune responses by secreting interleukin-10, and therefore are thought to prevent autoimmunity.

Western blot

Western blot analysis was performed using anti-CD46monoclonal antibody at 1 ug/mL on various samples.
Lane 1: K562 cell lysate
Lane 2: Jurkat cell lysate
Lane 3: HEK293T cell lysate
Flow cytometry

Flow-cytometry using anti-Human CD46 antibody. Jurkat cells were stained with an irrelevant antibody (Blue Histogram) or an anti-Human CD46 monoclonal antibody (Catalog HB735023, Yellow Histogram) at a concentration of 5 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L Polyclonal Antibody, FITC (abinScience:TF690414) and cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.
