S-adenosylmethionine decarboxylase proenzyme (AMD1) is a ~38 kDa protein. Essential for biosynthesis of the polyamines spermidine and spermine. Promotes maintenance and self-renewal of embryonic stem cells, by maintaining spermine levels.
