Contexte

Adhesin P110 (Mgp3) is a ~114 kDa protein. Part of the major adhesin Nap complex which mediates attachment to host ciliated epithelium. This protein and P140 (mgpB) mutually stabilize each other, and are required for formation of the attachment organelle. Binds sialylated oligosaccharides, which are present on the surface of its human host cells and which probably serve as the main host cell receptors for this bacterium. The Nap complex plays a major role in gliding motility and adhesion to host cells.
