| Contexte | Alpha-N-acetylgalactosaminide alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 2 is a ~42 kDa protein. Catalyzes the transfer of N-acetylneuraminyl groups onto glycan chains in glycoproteins. Conjugates sialic acid with an alpha-2-6 linkage to N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) glycan chains linked to serine or threonine in glycoproteins. Sialylates alphaGalNAc- and Galbeta1->3GalNAc-O-Ser/Thr epitopes also known as Tn and T antigens. 1. Kurosawa, N. et al. (1996) The Journal of biological chemistry 271, 15109-16. PMID: 8662927 |
