  • Existing purchase orders and quotations remain valid as-is.
  • Citations in your published papers do not require amendment.

What has changed

RECOMBINANT ANTIBODY DESIGNATION
Monoclonal antibodies produced via recombinant expression of cloned VH/VL genes are now labeled accordingly.
Previous:
Anti-Human IgM Antibody (SAA0809)
Updated:
Anti-Human IgM Recombinant Antibody (SAA0809)
PROTEIN NAME RESTRUCTURE
Recombinant proteins now lead with species and target name, with affinity tag information moved to a parenthetical suffix.
Previous:
Recombinant Human GSAP Protein, N-His
Updated:
Human GSAP Recombinant Protein (N-His)
REFERENCE ANTIBODY (RUO) FOR BIOSIMILARS
Research-grade biosimilars now use the "Reference Antibody (RUO)" nomenclature, with target and drug name surfaced for findability.
Previous:
Research Grade Bermekimab
Updated:
Anti-Human IL-1 alpha/IL-1F1 Reference Antibody (Bermekimab, RUO)
RECOMBINANT NANOBODY DESIGNATION
VHH single-domain antibodies are now labeled to reflect their recombinant production.

Anti-GFP Recombinant Nanobody (SAA1151)

What does not change

Catalog numbers Unchanged. Continue to use the same catalog number on POs and quotations.
Prices & quotations Unchanged. Outstanding quotations remain valid through their original expiry dates.
Product specifications Formulation, host species, applications, reactivity, conjugates, and storage conditions are unchanged.
Lot certificates & CoAs Existing CoAs remain valid. New CoAs reflect the updated product name; lot numbers are continuous.
Published citations No action required. Citations referencing the previous product name with a valid catalog number remain accurate. We recommend using the updated name in new manuscripts.
RRIDs RRIDs remain associated with the same catalog number.

Frequently asked questions

Are these the same products I have been ordering?

Yes. Catalog numbers, formulations, quality specifications, lot history, and pricing are unchanged. Only the product name displayed in the catalog has been updated.

Do I need to update citations in published papers?

No. Citations that reference the previous product name together with a valid catalog number remain accurate and verifiable. We recommend using the updated name in new manuscripts and grant applications.

Will my existing purchase order with the old product name still be processed?

Yes. Purchase orders are matched by catalog number, which is unchanged. All existing orders will be processed normally.

How do I find a product if I only remember the old name?

Catalog numbers have not changed — searching by catalog number is the most reliable method. If you are unsure of the catalog number, email the old product name to support@abinscience.com and we will help you locate the updated listing.

Why are some antibodies now labeled as "Recombinant"?

These monoclonal antibodies are produced via recombinant expression in mammalian cell lines (CHO/HEK293), delivering sequence-defined, lot-to-lot consistent performance. The previous product names did not reflect the production method; this update adds that information.

What does "Reference Antibody (RUO)" mean for biosimilar products?

"Reference Antibody" describes a research-grade antibody developed against a clinical drug sequence; using the term, rather than the drug name alone, makes the dual signal of "reference sequence" and "research-only purpose" explicit on the product label. "RUO" (Research Use Only) is a regulatory designation indicating the product is intended for in vitro research and is not approved for diagnostic, therapeutic, or other regulated use.

Where can I get help during this transition?
