Selection guide

  1. Antigen choice: Prioritize Env (gp120/gp140; trimer-like) for neutralization/receptor binding; use Gag p24 for serology/core detection; focus on RT/IN/PR for replication/enzymology; include Tat/Nef for immune regulation.
  2. Clade/strain: Select Group M subtypes (A/B/C/CRF01_AE, etc.) or conserved regions; specify alignment strategy for cross-clade comparison.
  3. Glycosylation: Use HEK-expressed Env to retain glycosylation and conformational epitopes (e.g., V3, CD4bs); confirm stabilized trimer (SOSIP/native-like).
