| Background | Purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNP) is a ~32 kDa protein. Catalyzes the phosphorolytic breakdown of the N-glycosidic bond in the beta-(deoxy)ribonucleoside molecules, with the formation of the corresponding free purine bases and pentose-1-phosphate.
