| Background | Patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing protein 4 (PNPLA4) is a ~27 kDa protein. Has abundant triacylglycerol lipase activity. Transfers fatty acid from triglyceride to retinol, hydrolyzes retinylesters, and generates 1,3-diacylglycerol from triglycerides. Additionally possesses acylglycerol transacylase and phospholipase A2 activities. 1. Jenkins, CM. et al. (2004) The Journal of biological chemistry 279, 48968-75. PMID: 15364929 2. Lake, AC. et al.
