| Background | B-cell antigen receptor complex-associated protein beta chain (CD79B) is a ~26 kDa protein. Required in cooperation with CD79A for initiation of the signal transduction cascade activated by the B-cell antigen receptor complex (BCR) which leads to internalization of the complex, trafficking to late endosomes and antigen presentation. Enhances phosphorylation of CD79A, possibly by recruiting kinases which phosphorylate CD79A or by recruiting proteins which bind to CD79A and protect it from dephosphorylation. CD79B is the therapeutic target of polatuzumab vedotin (Polivy). |

Detects CD79β/CD79B in indirect ELISAs.

Flow-cytometry using anti-human CD79β antibody.Daudi cells were stained with an irrelevant antibody (Blue Histogram) or an anti-human CD79β antibody monoclonal antibody (Catalog # HW431207 ,Green Histogram) at a concentration of 5 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a FITC conjugated goat anti-mouse antibody (Catalog # MF690414) and cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.

Flow-cytometry using anti-human CD79β antibody.Human peripheral blood lymphocytes were stained with an irrelevant antibody (Blue Histogram) or an anti-human CD79β antibody monoclonal antibody (Catalog # HW431207 ,Green Histogram) at a concentration of 5 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a FITC conjugated goat anti-mouse antibody (Catalog # MF690414) and cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.
