| Background | CD40 ligand (CD154/CD40L) is a ~29 kDa protein. Cytokine that acts as a ligand to CD40/TNFRSF5. Costimulates T-cell proliferation and cytokine production. Its cross-linking on T-cells generates a costimulatory signal which enhances the production of IL4 and IL10 in conjunction with the TCR/CD3 ligation and CD28 costimulation. Induces the activation of NF-kappa-B. Induces the activation of kinases MAPK8 and PAK2 in T-cells. 1. Armitage, RJ. et al. (1992) Nature 357, 80-2. PMID: 1374165 |

Flow-cytometry using anti-mouse CD154 antibody.CD154 Transfected CHO cells were stained with an irrelevant antibody (Blue Histogram) or an anti-mouse CD154 antibody monoclonal antibody (Catalog # MB199107 ,Green Histogram) at a concentration of 5 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a FITC conjugated goat anti-rat antibody and cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.
