Background

Minor capsid protein M1249L (pM1249L) is a ~144 kDa protein. Together with the penton and the other minor capsid proteins (p17, p49), forms a complicated network immediately below the outer capsid shell, stabilizing the whole capsid. In addition, blocks IFN-beta transactivation mediated by the cGAS-STING pathway and regulates the transcriptional activity of IFN-beta. Mechanistically, suppresses the phosphorylation of host key adapter protein TBK1 and degrades host IRF3 in the cytoplasm.
