Background

Metallo-beta-lactamase type 2 (blm) is a ~28 kDa protein. Confers resistance to the different beta-lactams antibiotics (penicillin, cephalosporin and carbapenem) via the hydrolysis of the beta-lactam ring. Active on cephalosporin and penicillin.
