Background

Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 1B (CD120b/TNFR2) is a ~48 kDa protein. Receptor with high affinity for TNFSF2/TNF and approximately 5-fold lower affinity for homotrimeric TNFSF1/lymphotoxin-alpha. The TRAF1/TRAF2 complex recruits the apoptotic suppressors BIRC2 and BIRC3 to TNFRSF1B/TNFR2. This receptor mediates most of the metabolic effects of TNF. Isoform 2 blocks TNF-induced apoptosis, which suggests that it regulates TNF function by antagonizing its biological activity.

    Flow Cytometry

    Flow-cytometry using anti-human CD120b antibody. CD120b Transfected CHO cells were stained with an irrelevant antibody (Blue Histogram) or an anti-human CD120b antibody monoclonal antibody (Catalog # HB070107 , Green Histogram) at a concentration of 5 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a FITC conjugated goat anti-mouse antibody (Catalog # MF690414) and cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.

HEK-Blue™ TNF-α cells were stained with an irrelevant antibody (Blue Histogram) or an anti-human CD120b monoclonal antibody (Catalog: HB070107, Yellow Histogram) at a concentration of 5 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a a Goat Anti-Mouse IgG H&L Polyclonal Antibody, FITC (abinScience: MF690414) and cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.
