Background

Vitamin D-binding protein (DBP/GC) is a ~52 kDa protein. Involved in vitamin D transport and storage, scavenging of extracellular G-actin, enhancement of the chemotactic activity of C5 alpha for neutrophils in inflammation and macrophage activation.
