Background

GDP-L-fucose synthase (GFUS) is a ~35 kDa protein. Catalyzes the two-step NADP-dependent conversion of GDP-4-dehydro-6-deoxy-D-mannose to GDP-fucose, involving an epimerase and a reductase reaction.
