Background

Poly(rC)-binding protein 1 (PCBP1) is a ~37 kDa protein. Single-stranded nucleic acid binding protein that binds preferentially to oligo dC. Together with PCBP2, required for erythropoiesis, possibly by regulating mRNA splicing.
