Background

Sodium- and chloride-dependent taurine transporter (SLC6A6) is a ~69 kDa protein. Mediates sodium- and chloride-dependent transport of taurine. Mediates transport of beta-alanine. Can also mediate transport of hypotaurine and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).
