Background

B-lymphocyte antigen CD19 is a ~60 kDa protein. Functions as a coreceptor for the B-cell antigen receptor complex (BCR) on B-lymphocytes. Decreases the threshold for activation of downstream signaling pathways and for triggering B-cell responses to antigens. Activates signaling pathways that lead to the activation of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase and the mobilization of intracellular Ca(2+) stores. Is not required for early steps during B cell differentiation in the blood marrow. Required for normal differentiation of B-1 cells. CD19 is the therapeutic target of tafasitamab (Monjuvi).

    Flow Cytometry

Flow-cytometry using APC anti-Mouse CD19 antibody. Mouse spleen cells were stained with an irrelevant antibody (Green Histogram) or an APC anti-Mouse CD19 antibody monoclonal antibody (Catalog # MB996137 , Red Histogram) at a concentration of 5 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.
