Background

Paired mesoderm homeobox protein 2A (PHOX2B) is a ~29 kDa protein. May be involved in regulating the specificity of expression of the catecholamine biosynthetic genes. Acts as a transcription activator/factor. Could maintain the noradrenergic phenotype.
