| Alternate Names | ATP-dependent chromatin remodeler CHD6, CHD-6, CHD5, CHD6, Chromo domain-containing protein 6, EC:3.6.4.-, KIAA1335, RIGB, Radiation-induced gene B protein |
| Background | ATP-dependent chromatin remodeler CHD6 is a ~305 kDa protein. ATP-dependent chromatin-remodeling factor. Regulates transcription by disrupting nucleosomes in a largely non-sliding manner which strongly increases the accessibility of chromatin; nucleosome disruption requires ATP. Activates transcription of specific genes in response to oxidative stress through interaction with NFE2L2. 1. Lutz, T. et al. (2006) FEBS letters 580, 5851-7. PMID: 17027977 2. Manning, BJ. et al.
