Background

ATP-dependent chromatin remodeler CHD6 is a ~305 kDa protein. ATP-dependent chromatin-remodeling factor. Regulates transcription by disrupting nucleosomes in a largely non-sliding manner which strongly increases the accessibility of chromatin; nucleosome disruption requires ATP. Activates transcription of specific genes in response to oxidative stress through interaction with NFE2L2.
