| Alternate Names | Chromatin-remodeling ATPase INO80, DNA helicase-related INO80 complex homolog 1, DNA helicase-related protein INO80, EC:3.6.4.-, INO80, INO80 complex subunit A, INO80A, INOC1, KIAA1259, hINO80 |
| Background | Chromatin-remodeling ATPase INO80 is a ~176 kDa protein. ATPase component of the chromatin remodeling INO80 complex which is involved in transcriptional regulation, DNA replication and DNA repair. Binds DNA. As part of the INO80 complex, remodels chromatin by shifting nucleosomes. Regulates transcription upon recruitment by YY1 to YY1-activated genes, where it acts as an essential coactivator. Involved in UV-damage excision DNA repair. 1. Jin, J. et al. (2005) The Journal of biological chemistry 280, 41207-12. PMID: 16230350 2. Bakshi, R. et al.
