| Alternate Names | MYO1C, MYO1E, Myosin-Ic, Unconventional myosin 1E, Unconventional myosin-Ie |
| Background | Unconventional myosin-Ie is a ~127 kDa protein. Actin-based motor molecule with ATPase activity. Unconventional myosins serve in intracellular movements. Their highly divergent tails bind to membranous compartments, which are then moved relative to actin filaments. Binds to membranes containing anionic phospholipids via its tail domain. Involved in clathrin-mediated endocytosis and intracellular movement of clathrin-coated vesicles. 1. El Mezgueldi, M. et al. (2002) The Journal of biological chemistry 277, 21514-21.
