Storage buffer Lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol.

Please refer to the specific buffer information in the hardcopy of datasheet or the lot-specific COA.

Reconstitution Reconstitute in sterile water for a stock solution. A copy of datasheet will be provided with the products, please refer to it for details.
Shipping In general, proteins are provided as lyophilized powder/frozen liquid. They are shipped out with dry ice/blue ice unless customers require otherwise.
Stability and Storage Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Store at 2 to 8°C for frequent use. Store at -20 to -80°C for twelve months from the date of receipt.
Alternate NamesBCP, BOP, Blue cone photoreceptor pigment, Blue-sensitive opsin, OPN1SW, Short-wave-sensitive opsin 1
Background

Short-wave-sensitive opsin 1 is a ~38 kDa protein. Visual pigments are the light-absorbing molecules that mediate vision. They consist of an apoprotein, opsin, covalently linked to cis-retinal (Probable). Required for the maintenance of cone outer segment organization in the ventral retina, but not essential for the maintenance of functioning cone photoreceptors. Involved in ensuring correct abundance and localization of retinal membrane proteins. May increase spectral sensitivity in dim light.
