Background

P2X purinoceptor 3 is a ~44 kDa protein. Extracellular ATP-activated non-selective cation channel. Plays particularly important role in sensory neurons where its activation is critical for gustatory, nociceptive responses, visceral reflexes and sensory hypersensitization.
