| Background | Lymphotoxin-alpha (TNF-beta,TNFSF1,Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 1,LTA,Lymphotoxin-alpha,LT-alpha,TNFB) is a ~22 kDa protein. Cytokine that in its homotrimeric form binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1, TNFRSF1B/TNFBR and TNFRSF14/HVEM. In its heterotrimeric form with LTB binds to TNFRSF3/LTBR. Lymphotoxin is produced by lymphocytes and is cytotoxic for a wide range of tumor cells in vitro and in vivo. 1. Mauri, DN. et al. (1998) Immunity 8, 21-30. PMID: 9462508 2. Sudhamsu, J. et al.
