Selection guide

  1. Antigen choice: Prioritize HBsAg (S/preS1/preS2) for serology/neutralization; use HBcAg for core/T-cell studies; select HBeAg for replication/secretion; focus on Pol/RT for enzymology; include HBx for regulation/pathogenesis.
  2. Genotype/epitope: Specify A–H genotypes and subtypes (adw/ayw); use conserved regions for cross-genotype comparison.
  3. Expression system: Use HEK for HBsAg to retain glycosylation/conformation; bacterial HBcAg forms VLP-like structures for immunology.
  4. Matrix & MRD: Follow CoA dilution and spike recovery; assess background in serum/plasma.
