Description
Anti-Alphaherpesviruses gB Broad-Neutralizing Recombinant Antibody (16F9) (VK006073) is a mouse monoclonal antibody detecting gB in ELISA, SPR, IF, FCM. Suitable for Human herpesvirus 1 (HHV-1) (Human herpes simplex virus 1) (HSV-1), Human herpesvirus 2 (HHV-2) (Human herpes simplex virus 2) (HSV-2), Varicella-zoster virus (HHV-3) (Human herpesvirus 3), Suid herpesvirus 1 (SuHV-1) (Pseudorabies virus), Bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1), Bovine herpesvirus 2 (BoHV-2), Bovine herpesvirus 5 (BoHV-5).
Highlights
  • ●Affinity Purified — Minimal background and high purity for reliable results.
  • ●Multi-Application — Validated across multiple applications.
  • ●Multi-Species — Cross-reactive for translational research.

Background

Envelope glycoprotein B (gB) is a ~102 kDa protein. Envelope glycoprotein that plays a role in host cell entry, cell to-cell virus transmission, and fusion of infected cells. May be involved in the initial attachment via binding to heparan sulfate together with the gM/gN complex that binds heparin with higher affinity. Interacts with host integrin ITGB1, PDGFRA and EGFR that likely serve as postattachment entry receptors. Also participates in the fusion of viral and cellular membranes leading to virus entry into the host cell. Membrane fusion is mediated by the fusion machinery composed at least of gB and the heterodimer gH/gL.
