Background

Syndecan-1 (CD138/SDC1) is a ~32 kDa protein. Cell surface proteoglycan that contains both heparan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate and that links the cytoskeleton to the interstitial matrix. Regulates exosome biogenesis in concert with SDCBP and PDCD6IP. Able to induce its own expression in dental mesenchymal cells and also in the neighboring dental epithelial cells via an MSX1-mediated pathway.

Note For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is 0.5 µg per million cells in 100 µL volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application. For research use only.

    Flow Cytometry

    Flow-cytometry using APC anti-Human CD138 antibody. RPMI8226 cells were stained with an irrelevant antibody (Green Histogram) or an APC anti-Human CD138 antibody monoclonal antibody (Catalog # HB943137 , Red Histogram) at a concentration of 5 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.
