Background

Integrin alpha-4 (CD49d/ITGA4) is a ~114 kDa protein. Integrins alpha-4/beta-1 (VLA-4) and alpha-4/beta-7 are receptors for fibronectin. They recognize one or more domains within the alternatively spliced CS-1 and CS-5 regions of fibronectin. They are also receptors for VCAM1. Integrin alpha-4/beta-1 recognizes the sequence Q-I-D-S in VCAM1. Integrin alpha-4/beta-7 is also a receptor for MADCAM1.

    Flow Cytometry

    Flow-cytometry using anti-human CD49d antibody. Human Jurkat cell line were stained with an irrelevant antibody (Green Histogram) or an anti-human CD49d antibody monoclonal antibody (Catalog # HY596107 , Red Histogram) at a concentration of 20 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a FITC conjugated goat anti-rabbit antibody (Catalog # PTB96441) and cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.
