Background

Fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) is a ~22 kDa protein. Stimulates glucose uptake in differentiated adipocytes via the induction of glucose transporter SLC2A1/GLUT1 expression (but not SLC2A4/GLUT4 expression). Activity requires the presence of KLB. Regulates systemic glucose homeostasis and insulin sensitivity.

Flow Cytometry

Flow-cytometry using anti-human FGF21 antibody.HepG2 cells were stained with an irrelevant antibody (Blue Histogram) or an anti-human FGF21 antibody monoclonal antibody (Catalog # HV802013 ,Green Histogram) at a concentration of 5 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a FITC conjugated goat anti-mouse antibody (Catalog # MF690414) and cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.
