Background

Histone-lysine N-methyltransferase SMYD3 is a ~49 kDa protein. Histone methyltransferase. Specifically methylates 'Lys-4' of histone H3, inducing di- and tri-methylation, but not monomethylation. Also methylates 'Lys-5' of histone H4. Plays an important role in transcriptional activation as a member of an RNA polymerase complex. Binds DNA containing 5'-CCCTCC-3' or 5'-GAGGGG-3' sequences.

Flow Cytometry

Flow-cytometry using anti-human SMYD3 antibody.HeLa cells were stained with an irrelevant antibody (Blue Histogram) or an anti-human SMYD3 antibody monoclonal antibody (Catalog # HP320013 ,Green Histogram) at a concentration of 5 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a FITC conjugated goat anti-mouse antibody (Catalog # MF690414) and cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.
