| Background | WD repeat-containing protein 5 (WDR5) is a ~36 kDa protein. Contributes to histone modification. May position the N-terminus of histone H3 for efficient trimethylation at 'Lys-4'. As part of the MLL1/MLL complex it is involved in methylation and dimethylation at 'Lys-4' of histone H3. H3 'Lys-4' methylation represents a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional activation. As part of the NSL complex it may be involved in acetylation of nucleosomal histone H4 on several lysine residues. 1. Han, Z. et al. (2006) Molecular cell 22, 137-44. PMID: 16600877 2. Flow-cytometry using anti-human WDR5 antibody.MCF7 cells were stained with an irrelevant antibody (Blue Histogram) or an anti-human WDR5 antibody monoclonal antibody (Catalog # HX013013 ,Green Histogram) at a concentration of 5 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a FITC conjugated goat anti-mouse antibody (Catalog # MF690414) and cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.
