Shipping In general, proteins are provided as lyophilized powder/frozen liquid. They are shipped out with dry ice/blue ice unless customers require otherwise.
Stability and Storage Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Store at 2 to 8°C for frequent use. Store at -20 to -80°C for twelve months from the date of receipt.
Alternate NamesDNA polymerase gamma accessory 55 kDa subunit, DNA polymerase subunit gamma-2, MTPOLB, Mitochondrial DNA polymerase accessory subunit, MtPolB, POLG2, PolG-beta, p55
Background

DNA polymerase subunit gamma-2 is a ~54 kDa protein. Accessory subunit of DNA polymerase gamma solely responsible for replication of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA). Acts as an allosteric regulator of the holoenzyme activities. Enhances the polymerase activity and the processivity of POLG by increasing its interactions with the DNA template. Suppresses POLG exonucleolytic proofreading especially toward homopolymeric templates bearing mismatched termini. Binds to single-stranded DNA.
