Selection guide

  1. Antigen choice: Prioritize VP1/VP2 for serology/capsid studies; use VP1u (PLA2) for receptor binding; focus on NS1 for replication/apoptosis; include 11k/7.5k for pathogenesis.
  2. Genotype: B19V has three genotypes (1–3); most reagents based on genotype 1 (global); cross-reactivity via conserved VP2.
  3. Expression system: Use insect/baculovirus for VP1/VP2 to form capsids; bacterial for NS1/11k/7.5k with activity validation.
  4. Assay: ELISA with 4PL/5PL fitting; neutralization via in vitro RBC infection or surrogate models; validate with CoA MRD and recovery.
