| Background | Cell adhesion molecule CEACAM6 (CD66c) is a ~37 kDa protein. Cell surface glycoprotein that plays a role in cell adhesion and tumor progression. Intercellular adhesion occurs in a calcium- and fibronectin-independent manner. Mediates homophilic and heterophilic cell adhesion with other carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecules, such as CEACAM5 and CEACAM8. Heterophilic interaction with CEACAM8 occurs in activated neutrophils. Plays a role in neutrophil adhesion to cytokine-activated endothelial cells. 1. Ordoñez, C. et al. Untransfected cells (blue Histogram) and Transfected cells (Yellow Histogram) were stained with an anti-human CEACAM6 monoclonal antibody at a concentration of 5 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.
