Background

Vasoactive intestinal polypeptide receptor 1 (VIPR1/VPAC1) is a ~51 kDa protein. G protein-coupled receptor activated by the neuropeptides vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) and pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (ADCYAP1/PACAP). Binds VIP and both PACAP27 and PACAP38 bioactive peptides with the following order of ligand affinity VIP = PACAP27 > PACAP38. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of downstream effectors. Activates cAMP-dependent pathway.

Note For research use only. This stable cell line expresses GFP as a reporter marker. GFP is expressed independently of the target protein and is not fused to the target protein.

    Flow cytometry

Untransfected cells (blue Histogram) and Transfected cells (Yellow Histogram) were stained with an anti-human VIPR1 monoclonal antibody at a concentration of 5 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.
